NDIS Portal Login: How to Sign In to my NDIS and myplace
You log in to the NDIS participant portal through myGov: sign in at my.gov.au and select the NDIS from your linked services, or use the Participant portal link on ndis.gov.au. The first time, you link the NDIS to myGov with a one-time 6-digit activation code that the NDIS texts to your mobile.
There are two participant portals: my NDIS, for plans made in the NDIA's new computer system, and myplace, for plans still in the old one. The free my NDIS app works with both. Stuck? Call the NDIS on 1800 800 110, Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm local time.
Steps and phone numbers from ndis.gov.au, my.gov.au and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Last checked 4 November 2026.
How to log in to the NDIS portal for the first time
You only link the NDIS to myGov once. Have your phone with you, because the code goes to the mobile number the NDIS has for you.
- 1
Check your myGov sign-in option
The NDIS doesn't accept secret questions and answers. If your myGov account uses them, switch to an SMS code, an authenticator app or a passkey first, under Account settings, then Sign in settings.
- 2
Get your 6-digit activation code
On ndis.gov.au, go to the my NDIS or myplace portal and follow the prompts. The NDIS texts a one-time code to the mobile number it has for you, and it lasts 15 minutes. A code you get by calling 1800 800 110 lasts 10 days.
- 3
Sign in to myGov
Type my.gov.au into your browser rather than tapping a link in a text or email. No account yet? Create one first.
- 4
Find the NDIS in linked services
Select My account, then Linked services. Under Link a service, select Link on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) tile.
- 5
Enter your code and details
Enter the code and your details, select Submit, then agree to the terms and conditions and the privacy notice. Your details must match myGov exactly.
- 6
Open your portal
You can now use either participant portal. Next time, just sign in to myGov and choose the NDIS.
Logging in after the first time
Sign in to myGov and choose the NDIS from your linked services, or select Participant portal at the top of ndis.gov.au. myGov accepts your username or email and password, a passkey or your Digital ID.
Sign in to myGov or read myGov's steps for linking the NDIS.
myplace portal vs my NDIS portal: which should I use?
It depends on which NDIA computer system your plan is in. The new one is called PACE, and the old one SAP CRM. The NDIS tells you which system your plan is in when it approves your plan.
| Portal | Who it's for | How you sign in | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| my NDIS participant portal | Participants whose plan was made in the NDIA's new computer system | myGov | Budgets, claims, your my providers, checking claims from providers |
| myplace participant portal | Participants whose plan is still in the old computer system | myGov | Your plan and budget, payment requests if you self-manage, service bookings |
| my NDIS app | Any participant, whichever system your plan is in | myGov the first time, then a PIN, fingerprint or Face ID | Budget and plan details, claims if you self-manage, enquiries and documents |
- Once signed in you can switch between the two portals, but you can only claim through the one your plan uses.
- Your plan moves to the new system when a new plan is approved, for example at a reassessment. Until then, myplace (sometimes written "my place") is your portal.
- Not sure which you're on? Ask your my NDIS contact. Their name and number are on the front page of your plan.
What can you do in the my NDIS portal?
- See your plan, your budget, what's left and your funding component amounts.
- See your recent claims and their status.
- Make and track claims, if you self-manage.
- Accept or dispute claims from providers who aren't your my providers, if you have NDIA-managed funding.
- Record your my providers, accept or decline their requests in the relationships tab, and choose what plan information they can see.
- Read messages from the NDIA and update your details.
| Funding type | Who pays providers | What you use the portal for |
|---|---|---|
| Self-managed | You pay providers, then claim from the NDIA | Make claims and upload receipts. Payment usually reaches your bank account within 2 business days. |
| Plan-managed | Your plan manager | Check your budgets and record your my providers. Your plan manager must be one. |
| NDIA-managed | The NDIA pays registered providers directly | Check claims, accept or dispute claims from providers who aren't your my providers, and record your my providers. |
Claiming if you self-manage
- From 1 December 2026, claim within 90 days of the support (it used to be 2 years). Since 15 October 2026, claims made more than 90 days after the support may be held for extra checks for up to 28 days. Other NDIS changes
- Claim only after you've received the support, with one claim per provider and per support category.
- Keep invoices and receipts for 5 years, and upload a copy as you claim.
- Can't use the portal or app? There's a paper claim form you can return in person, by post or by email.
New to this? Read our NDIS self-management guide or compare it with plan management.
What are my providers in the NDIS?
Plans in the new system don't use service bookings. Instead you record your my providers: the providers you've told the NDIA can claim from your plan, so it pays them without checking with you first.
- You must record a plan manager, support coordinator or recovery coach as a my provider, and the providers of specialist disability accommodation (SDA), home and living supports and behaviour supports. Otherwise their claims are rejected.
- For other NDIA-managed supports, the NDIA texts you when a provider who isn't your my provider claims, and checks with you before paying. Accept or dispute it in the portal or on 1800 800 110.
- Add, change or remove my providers in the portal, through your my NDIS contact or on 1800 800 110.

How to use the my NDIS app
The my NDIS app lets you manage your plan on your phone, whichever system your plan is in.
- 1
Download the my NDIS app
It's free on Google Play and the Apple App Store. You need iOS 16.6 or later, or Android 11 or later.
- 2
Enter your NDIS details
Type in your NDIS number (it's on your plan), your last name and your date of birth.
- 3
Connect the app to myGov
You only do this once. A 6-digit code is sent by SMS to the mobile number the NDIS has for you.
- 4
Create a PIN
After that you sign in with your PIN, fingerprint or Face ID.
In the app you can see your budget, plan details and reassessment date, make and manage claims if you self-manage, get notifications, send enquiries and upload documents. You can't change your personal details in the app: use the portal or call 1800 800 110. How to use the my NDIS app
Can't log in to the NDIS portal? Common problems and fixes
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| myGov won't link the NDIS, or the NDIS has unlinked itself | Your myGov account probably uses secret questions, which the NDIS doesn't accept. Switch to an SMS code, authenticator app or passkey, then link again. Removing your last passkey while on secret questions also unlinks the NDIS. |
| Your activation code expired or didn't arrive | Ask for a new one. The code goes to the mobile the NDIS has on file, so call 1800 800 110 if your number has changed. |
| It says your details don't match | Your name and date of birth must match myGov exactly. If the NDIS has them wrong, call 1800 800 110. If myGov has them wrong, call the myGov helpdesk on 132 307, option 1. |
| You're in, but can't see your plan or make a claim | You may be in the other portal. Switch between my NDIS and myplace once signed in. You can only claim through the one your plan uses. |
| Forgotten myGov password or username, or a locked account | Use Forgot password or Forgot username on the myGov sign-in page. For a locked account, follow myGov sign in help or call 132 307, option 1. |
| A nominee or parent can't get in | Nominees and child representatives must use their own myGov account. Each NDIS portal account links to only one myGov account. |
| The my NDIS app has locked you out | After 5 wrong attempts the app locks for an hour. Wait, then try again, or call 1800 800 110. |
| The portal won't load for anyone | Check the news page on ndis.gov.au for planned system updates and outages. |
| A text or email asks you to sign in through a link | Don't tap it. Services Australia won't send you a myGov sign-in link. Report NDIS scam messages on 1800 650 717. |
More fixes: myGov sign in help and How to use the participant portals.
Logging in as a nominee or child representative
Sign in with your own myGov account, never the participant's, in both the portals and the app. Each NDIS portal account can be linked to only one myGov account. The myGov helpdesk can only help with your own account: if you call about someone else's, even as their nominee, they need to be with you.
Other NDIS logins you might land on
- NDIS provider portals. The myplace and my NDIS provider portals are for providers, who sign in with myID instead of myGov. See our NDIS provider portal guide.
- The new NDIS Commission Portal. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's new portal went live on 12 October 2026. It's for providers, and it doesn't change how participants log in.
- DSS Identity Manager. A sign-in page with this name, offering "NDIS Commission Organisation" or "NDIS Commission Individual", is the login for the Commission's portals, not your plan.
- Checking a worker's screening. If you self-manage or have a plan manager, you can check a worker's NDIS Worker Screening clearance in the Commission's Self-managed participants portal, after applying for access through its Applications Portal. You sign in with myID or PRODA. More on the NDIS Worker Screening Check.
